KPSW going intercultural

KPSW going intercultural

Students at Karkonosze University of Applied Sciences in Jelenia Góra were able to take part in a series of intercultural events that took place end of October and in November. A special role in the organization of these events had Miss Kubra Tiras, who was an intern at our International Office. Kubra is a graduate from Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon.

On 26.10 a group of Erasmus+ students from Jelenia Góra were invited by Fundacja Ukraina to Wrocław for an intercultural training. The participants were Erasmus+ students currently in Poland. They were accompanied by Natalia Łobocka, a future participant of the mobility, planning to go for her Erasmus to Portugal.

In the evaluation of the event Kubra writes: „That was great for us. We talked about the intercultural subjects to each other and we played games which included team work and concentration skills. We also took part in activities to help us get to know each other. Then, we went to a kitchen and we made muffins based on a recipe given to us. They was very delicious even though their ingredient was zucchini!. We shared tasks to make a cake, so it was more fun. The employees from Fundacja Ukraina Marcel and Igor helped us with everything. They guided us on many issues. We are very grateful for them for hosting us!”

On 31.10 students celebrated Halloween and on 17.11 they organized a big event, called International Food Days. They have been cooking for the whole weekend so that Polish students could taste their traditional food. Then they invited their friends, students, staff with their friends and families to come and take part. The event itself was very enjoyable. Turkish girls danced some Turkish dances, everyone talked. Photographs from the day are to be found on the Polish website here:  http://www.kpswjg.pl/pl/news/kuchnia-erasmusa-relacja.
